Kakoli High School and College was founded on January 1, 1972, right after the independence of Bangladesh, by Principal Ibrahim Khan under its original name, "Konchi Kancher Kakoli School." The institution was established with the goal of rebuilding the nation's educational core by providing quality education, discipline, and strong character development.
1972 (Origin): Began its historical journey in a temporary, rented house on Road No. 19 in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
1973 (Permanent Campus): Shifted its primary operations to its permanent home at 79 Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi, where it operates today.
1975–2006 (Branch Expansion): Opened an additional branch on Asad Avenue in 1975, which later moved to its own land on Sir Syed Road in Mohammadpur in 1984. This branch closed indefinitely in 2006 due to unavoidable administrative circumstances.
1979 (High School Level): Upgraded from a primary learning center to a full-fledged high school.
1981 (Official Board Recognition): Received formal state recognition under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka on January 1, 1981.
2015 (College Extension): Extended its curriculum to the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) level, officially transforming into a combined high school and college.
Present Day: The campus runs in full swing under a non-government specialized managing committee, utilizing the national MPO funding framework. It boasts an excellent average Secondary School Certificate (SSC) pass rate of 98.60%.
